Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess vehicles based on customer requests or concerns

• Perform basic maintenance, including changing motor oil, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels

• Repair or replace parts and systems, such as spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors

• Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all parts and systems

• Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment

• Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately

• Ensure customer satisfaction at all times

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology a plus

• Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair, at least 1+ years preferred, but willing to train the right candidate

• Basic computer skills required

• Strong communication skills

• Physical strength and stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds

 

Candidates should at minimum be able to perform basic automotive repair, including oil changes, tire mounting, rotation and preventative maintenance. The more experienced Automotive Technician should be able to demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting for accurate diagnosis, ability to perform complex repairs safely and with accuracy in a variety of vehicle models both old and new. Certifications a plus.
