Auto Mechanic
Northup’s Imported Car Service, Inc. is looking for a talented Automotive Technician to join our growing team on Main Street in Downtown Wakefield, RI. Recruiting to start Summer of 2023! We are a small business specializing in all automotive repair needs (ie: regular maintenance, vehicle inspections and alignments) both imported and domestic vehicles. Northup's is a name well known in South County for exceptional customer service in auto repair and we're looking for a talented Technician to join our team to provide the same level of service our patrons have come to expect. Duties and Responsibilities:

Assess vehicles based on customer requests or concerns

Perform basic maintenance, including changing motor oil, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels

Repair or replace parts and systems, such as spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors

Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all parts and systems

Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment

Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately

Ensure customer satisfaction at all times
Requirements and Qualifications:
-
High School diploma or equivalent required
-
Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology a plus

Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair, at least 1+ years preferred, but willing to train the right candidate

Basic computer skills required

Strong communication skills
-
Physical strength and stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Candidates should at minimum be able to perform basic automotive repair, including oil changes, tire mounting, rotation and preventative maintenance. The more experienced Automotive Technician should be able to demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting for accurate diagnosis, ability to perform complex repairs safely and with accuracy in a variety of vehicle models both old and new. Certifications a plus.

Full-time position, schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, 1 hour lunch break daily
